It's all in the mind

For a student like me who just completed A levels, is most probably feeling extremely relieved and happy yet at the same time worried and lost . There is no need to explain about the cause of happiness. Finally, I get to take a breather and for once wake up and not immediately bury my head in heaps of textbooks , notes and practice papers. However, this state of euphoria is slowly diminishing as thoughts of not doing well, mistakes made and all the worst case scenarios starts popping up . It is in human nature to dwell on "spilled milk" and it is easier said than done to not think about it . Funny how we say something and do the exact opposite. We advice people to be positive, to think about the bright side yet behind this facade, we are drowning in our own fears, insecurities and negativity. We encourage people to be strong in times of adversity yet when we are placed in their shoes, we coward in fear and hear the same advice we gave to others and does not heed to it.It seems that these advises do not work until the person changes his mindset . Mindsets are like bulletproof, concrete walls, hard to break down with the use words but easily broken when the person has the will to change. That is only when advises actually starts to seep in. Yet ironically, at times our mentality crumbles down with the mere use of words and all that we build up turns into dust and we become dejected, indifferent and down.  So do we control our brain or does the brain control us ? I believe this again is all in the mind- the perspective of the person. Our mind alone is extremely power, the endless possibilities that can be created and the wonders that can be made. Needless to say it is imperative for us to utilized  our minds to best the of our abilities but yet again what determines the "best" depends on individual to judge and decide.

~ the above is just my humble opinion and reflection which was inspired by my post A levels situation :)
